Dear friends,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome the 6th Conference of the European Chapter of the American College of Nutrition (ECACN) in Cyprus. The Conference will be held on the 26th, 27th and 28th of October 2006 at the beautiful sea side Golden Bay Hotel in Larnaca.

The theme of the meeting is "Nutrition in Obesity and Cancer". Nowadays, Obesity seems to be the 'disease' of the century. World known health professionals from all over Europe and the USA have been invited to offer their knowledge and expertise. Throughout the meeting we are going to analyse the causes and effects of obesity on humans' health as well as physically and psychologically from childhood until late age.

EACN is giving the opportunity to all health professionals who are interested in nutrition, obesity and cancer (Physicians, Nutritionists, and Dieticians) to exchange ideas, research and look into the problem of obesity and cancer further.

The program of the meeting is geared to provide learning for the Physicians, Paediatricians, Gynaecologists, Surgeons, Endocrinologists, Gastroenterologists, Oncologists, Cardiologists, Rheumatologists, Psychologists, Nutritionists, Dieticians, Exercise Physiologists, Physical Education Majors and other health professionals.

See you in Cyprus, the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Goddess of Beauty. I am sure that your stay in Cyprus will not only be academically fruitful and rewarding, but also an excellent opportunity to see the history and culture of our island, the Cypriot hospitality and, why not, enjoy a little holiday by the beach as well.
