Conference
Venue
The conference will be held at the 5* Golden Bay Hotel in
Larnaca. Long known as a landmark of Larnaca and a focal
point of its business and social life, located about 20
minutes from Larnaca International Airport. The Golden Bay
Hotel is a five star hotel, which is open all year and consists
of 194 rooms. Located on the beach, at a small distance
from downtown.
Language
The official language of the conference is English.
Airport and Transfers
Traveller arriving in Cyprus may enter the country only
through the legal ports of entry, Larnaca and Pafos International
Airports. However, most international flights arrive at
Larnaca International Airport and it is also the Airport
nearer to the conference venue. Taxis are always available
at Larnaca Airport for your transfer to the hotel for approximately
EUR 15 per taxi.
Insurance
It is recommended that participants arrange insurance for
medical expenses, loss of personal belongings and accidents
occurring during the conference. The organizers cannot be
held responsible for any losses, damages or injuries.
Currency / Banking hours
The currency of the Republic of Cyprus is the Cyprus pound
- CYP. The Cyprus pound is not traded internationally. Commercial
Banks daily quote the exchange rates of the Cyprus pound
against all the major traded foreign currencies. Banking
hours for the public, Monday-Friday 08:30 - 13:30. There
are many Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) outside most branches
of banks in all towns and in the main tourist resorts. Hotels,
large shops and restaurants normally accept credit cards
and traveller's cheques. Banknotes of major foreign currencies
are also acceptable. Rates of exchange are published daily
in the local press and are broadcast via the media.
Climate
Cyprus enjoys a Mediterranean climate with long dry summers
from mid-May to mid-October and with mild winters from December
to February, which are separated by short autumn and spring
seasons. The average temperature in October is 25°C daytime
falling to 16°C in the evenings.
Fee
The fee of the conference includes: attendance to all sessions,
access to the exhibition area, cocktail reception, coffee
breaks, Friday lunch, conference satchel, programme and
abstracts booklet and certificate of attendance.
Accommodation
Rooms will be reserved on a 'first come first served' basis.
The number of pre-booked rooms is limited. The balance of
your accommodation account is to be pre-paid to the conference
secretariat by the end of September 2006. The conference
secretariat reserves the right to alter reservations: notification
of such changes will be in writing and in good time prior
to arrival.
Continuing Medical Education
CME credits will be accredited (details will follow in due
course).
Cancellation Policy - Accommodation
Cancellations must be advised in writing to the conference
secretariat. Cancellations received on or after the 30th
of September 2006 will be subject to one night's cancellation
charge. Cancellations received one week before check in
date will be subject to 100% cancellation fee.
Cancellation Policy - Registration
Cancellation before the 13th of October 2006, 80% of fee
will be refunded. Cancellations received after the 13th
of October 2006, fee non-refundable.

- Payment by credit card is the preferred means of payment
- The earliest possible registration would greatly assist
the conference organizers
- The conference organizers have pre-booked the two hotels
identified on the registration form at special conference
rates and therefore your support of these hotels would
be much appreciated.
