The organisers plan to offer around 15 stipends to contributors who have genuine and demonstrable difficulties in meeting the full cost of participating at ETMM7.  The number of stipends and the amount that can be offered will depend on the level of sponsorship obtained.  However, it is expected that any one stipend will cover the conference fees and will also include a modest contribution to accommodation and travel.

The organisers expect that applicants for stipends will be PhD students and young researchers whose research is not supported by external grants that include travel funding for attending conferences, and who have no access to such funding from their institutions or research groups.

Applications should be sent to Prof. M Leschziner (mike.leschziner@ic.ac.uk) or Prof. S. Kassinos (kassinos@ucy.ac.cy) and should include the following information on one A4 page:

• Name, affiliation and paper contributed (even as co-author)
• An explanation on how the research is supported and a confirmation that financial support for attending the conference cannot be obtained from other sources.
• The name and contact details of the supervisor, head of group or head of department who can be contacted to verify the statements made in the application.

The Deadline for receipt of applications is 31st January 2008.
